Lange in Glashütte, Germany, in 1845, A Lange & Söhne has marked the history of watchmaking with exceptional horological achievements, including the watches made for Kaiser Wilhelm II of Prussia. This factory established near the city of Dresden, in the valley of Glashütte became very quickly a jewel of German watchmaking, unfortunately it did not survive the torments of the Second World War and its owners will be expropriated in 1948 following the invasion of the Soviet army. After the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989, the determination and courage of the founder's great-grandson, Walter Lange, revived the prestige of this German manufacture, which has no equal in the quality of its movements with an exceptional finish. In 1994, A. Lange & Söhne unveiled its first collection and launched the Lange 1, which has become an iconic model for all lovers of fine watchmaking. Our more contemporary version takes up this original design: an off-center dial and a large date.
