Case with transparent back, screw closure. Special dial with Soulage material effects, special process on a laser machined brass base, use of superimposed materials to give an effect with depth, electroplating process to cover the whole with color, the golden brass hands have also been colored with a black PVD layer. Automatic movement with black rotor using the color codes of the work of Pierre Soulages. Buckle in blackened steel with signature. Dim. 31 x 48 mm Accessories: case, on box from Baume & Mercier, various booklets on the model, a warranty card dated 14.04.2022, a VIP pass for the Soulages museum bearing the limited serial number of the watch No. 096/102, which is the only one of its kind in France. 096/102, what also distinguishes this so-called "full set" because it is complete as at the date of its purchase, is the realization of the box with its rusty appearance that also pays tribute to the architecture of the Soulages Museum, including all the cladding appearance "rust moiré" made by the Catalan PCR, architects winners of the precious Pritzker Prize in 2017. A year ago, Baume et Mercier paid tribute to the work of a major contemporary artist of our time, producing 102 copies of its Hampton model "Homage to Pierre Soulages". The death of the artist in October 2022 gives this limited edition another dimension by honoring his memory and his indelible mark on art. As a painter of light and matter, Pierre Soulages' work represents a challenge to be reproduced on a small scale. This technical feat was achieved in part with the help of 3D to render a surface texture close to that of the canvas. As Soulages wished, the light is drawn onto the dial thanks to the golden lines on each hand, so "the black becomes less black and its surface states more present, more active" as he said. The work from which the watchmaker was freely inspired is an Outrenoir painting by Pierre Soulages, entitled "Painting 390 x 130 cm 17 March 2019", which was donated to the Soulages Museum in Rodez in 2020 to celebrate the painter's centenary. From this limited series, we will present for sale the wristwatch bearing the number 96/102, one of the last edited copies available on the market. Accompanied by its case, this watch has never been worn. Condition report: Sold in almost new condition, this watch has never been worn by its owner who left it in its original packaging with all the documentation, a piece for lovers also of Soulages' work. (Condition report provided as an indication according to our GTC).
