Total gross weight : 15 173 g PROVENANCE - Edward Chandler Moore (1827 - 1891), silversmith, director of the silver workshop of Tiffany. - H. Collection, descendants of the previous owner until today. This luxurious Chrysanthemum Silver model by Tiffany was designed in 1880 by Charles T. Grosjean, designer for the brand in New-York. With its flowing curves, swirling vegetation, sinuous tendrils and exotic flowers, the Chrysanthemum is characteristic of the Tiffany Japanese style. Chrysanthemum's rich and graceful floral patterns were undoubtedly influenced by founder Louis Comfort Tiffany. Chrysanthemum is by far the most lavish of all the American designs produced by Tiffany. Not only was it one of the models that required the most precious metal for its design but also an immense amount of work and finishing for each piece.
