LARGE silver TROPHY in the form of a covered bowl. The body - Lot 150
LARGE silver TROPHY in the form of a covered bowl. The body is decorated with floral motifs in repoussé and has two cartouches in the form of volutes. The obverse is engraved with a wedding dedication, the reverse with the arms of the recipient count. The handles end in volutes. The lid is decorated with acanthus leaves and gadroons and topped by a horse figure. It rests on a baluster pedestal. The interior is decorated with vermeil. Goldsmith : Alexander Clarck & Co Ltd. London, 1903. Height : 63 cm - Total net weight : 4105 g (Very good condition) As the dedication indicates: this cup was offered by the operators of the Charlton estate to the Right Honourable Henry Molyneux Paget, 19th Earl of Suffolk and 12th Earl of Berkshire on the occasion of his wedding.
