CHANEL Gabrielle dite Coco (1883 - 1971)
L.A.S. "Coco". London 29 October [1946], to "Dear Cusca"; 2 small folio pages, the first with letterhead and Metro-Goldwin-Mayer Pictures Ltd; in English. Rare letter concerning the marketing of Dylon dye. While in London, at the offices of Metro-Goldwin Mayer, Chanel must return to Paris the next morning. She gave recommendations and instructions for the design of the DYLON brand label (an English dye factory, founded in 1946, used notably in black fabrics at Chanel). She went to the Photostat people and gave them instructions to send the Dylon copies as soon as they were ready. She received and forwarded the material from Lofox ("the material which I got from Lofox this morning"). Chanel then lists three recommendations for: 1° the Colour Card layout, personally drawing two DYLON graphics, with indications of size; 2° the Label, in yellow on black ground; 3° the Package... (One edge slightly trimmed)
