In-folio, frontispiece, engraved title, 143-(1) pages, a plan. Contemporary red morocco, spine with ornamented nerves, crowned figure "L" repeated at the entrenerfs, triple gilt fillet around the boards, royal coat of arms in the center, lace on the necks and around the back covers, gilt edges. Ex-libris of the architect Georges Lisch. First edition, rare, of this superb description of the church church of Saint-Louis des Invalides given by the architect Jean-François Félibien des Avaux, published the year of its consecration. The work is illustrated with a view of the Invalides in the frontispiece, a plan of the church, a large title finial and 21 headpieces and culs-de-lampe, and 11 historiated lettrines. The entire text is decorated with historiated frames (4 different ones repeated). Berlin Kat. no. 2486; Cohen 377.
