BEAUX-ARTS 18 letters (L.A.S.) and documents; and 2 sketchbooks. Gustave DORÉ (3 visiting car tes a.s.), Paul DURAND-RUEL (4 to Mme Hoschedé, 1886; and 5 from his employee Ch. Casbury), Jean-Dominique INGRES (list of monuments and paintings "to be seen in Rome", 1836,), Mme INGRES, abbé Maurice MOREL (ms and notes on Lurçat in 2 notebooks), François PILON (p.s., 1654), Auguste RODIN (to Mirbeau, on visiting card), Georges ROUAULT (very corrected typescript, En marge des Doctrines, 1939). Ismaël de LA SERNA: 2 notebooks of drawings with spiral (10,5 x 13 cm and 18 x 27 cm, studio stamps). The small notebook (54 ff.) contains mainly portraits and caricatures in graphite; the other (22 ff.), mainly in black pencil, includes studies of animals, groups of women, characters, still lifes...(studio sale Nov. 13, 2002). Attached is a decorative pen and wash drawing (early 18th c.); a collection of engravings by Charles-Michel CAMPION (brown basane binding) with a consignment from Campion to M. Bretonneau (1779); an album of romantic drawings; an engraving after Flaxman; plus a copy of a letter from Ingres to Vernet, and a typed transcription of a letter from Kandinsky.
