Missale Romanum, ex decreto Sacro-Sancti Concilii Tridentini restitutum. Paris, Le Mercier and Boudet, 1742. In-folio (388 x 250 mm), frontispiece, (25) ff. 240 pp., (8) ff, pp. 241-576, CXIV pp. and 10 plates.) Contemporary red morocco, spine ribbed and decorated with floral vases in the center, small irons with dolphin, sun, world map, eagle and fleur-de-lis, green morocco title-piece, number at the foot, framed by a large gilt lace with small irons showing dolphins, world maps and suns on the boards, at the corners figure accompanied by the attributes of France and Poland (crowned eagle, fleur-de-lys, knight) and surmounted by dolphins, lace on the cuts and counterplates, gilt edges, silk tabs of different colors in the part devoted to the Canon, large silk lakes attached to a pipe. (Slight lack of colors on the lower board.) Splendid copy with the coat of arms of the dauphine Marie-Josèphe de Saxe, mother of the kings of France Louis XVI, Louis XVIII and Charles X. Daughter of the king of Poland August III, Marie-Josèphe de Saxe (1731-1767) married the dauphin Louis de France, eldest son of Louis XV. She gave birth to eight children, including the last three kings of France of the House of Bourbon, Louis XVI, Louis XVIII and Charles X. She never became queen due to the premature death of the dauphin, whom she followed shortly after in the grave. Beautiful black and red printing in a filleted frame, with notated music, illustrated with 11 unsigned plates, except for the penultimate one signed by Edme Couterot.
