BEAUTIFUL "MUKUYI" MASK in carved and painted wood, the face with fine and regular features is topped by a beautiful complex hairstyle with six shells. The mouth is enhanced with red pigments.

PROVENANCE This mask was collected by Mr. Loewenguth in Gabon between 1922 and 1930, probably shortly after its manufacture, and consequently it does not show any patina.
