FANG DIGNITARY CANE decorated in its center... - Lot 220 - Aguttes
FANG DIGNITARY CANE decorated in its center with a twisted pattern that stops to give way to a long quadrilob from which emerges a neck supporting two leaning heads with characteristic features of the Fang aesthetic. The eyes of one of the faces still bear the traces of old nails that must have been used to represent pupils. Very nice patina of use. Fang, Gabron, 19th century. Height : 96 cm (cracks) PROVENANCE Collected by Mr. Loewenguth in Gabon between 1922 and 1930, remained in his descendants.
