The Deburge dynasty began with Jacob I, an English-born watchmaker established in Blois in 1591. His son, Jacob II, probably the watchmaker who made this model, came to Paris in 1668. His name is mentioned in Le Dictionnaire des Horlogers Français, Tardy, p. 159.
