Octagonal watch in gilded metal and rock crystal with a single hand Case on hinge, faceted rock crystal on the back, the junction between the cover and the back is decorated with a chiseled frieze, safety catch at the base. Silvered and gilded dial, Roman numerals with a single hand, minute track in the center, the background decorated with an abbey in a country setting in the foreground. Mechanical movement with key winding, pre-sprung balance wheel, chiseled and pierced cock, adjusting screw, worm screw with pawls, spindle and hose, verge escapement, signature on the plate "Estienne Hubert Rouen". Dim. 34,5 x 41 mm Gross weight. 56 gr. The Dictionnaire des Horlogers Français mentions Estienne Hubert in Rouen, p. 310, Tardy, Juror 1659-94-1702. One of his silver watches with a pierced decoration of flowers and foliage is illustrated in the same work and is in the collection of the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.
