Important correspondence addressed to the great patron and industrialist Pierre Lévy and his wife. Approximately 57 documents: 17 L.A.S., 2 L.D.S., approximately 28 C.P.A.S., some of which are in the hand of his wife, Thérèse, 7 original period photographs and 3 P.A. Paris, Chaville, Saint-Tropez, Athens, etc. 1951-1974. About 40 envelopes kept. Important artistic and friendly correspondence of André Dunoyer de Segonzac. -17 L.A.S. and 2 L.D.S. 32 pp. in-4 and 3 pp. in-8 square (letter-cards). "It seems that the project of an exhibition of some French painters (Matisse, Derain, Rouault, Utrillo, Marquet, Dufy, myself, etc.) is becoming clearer. (in New-York at Wildenstein). I have received Metthey - and I am writing to Wildenstein. I think I will find 2 quality landscapes in N.Y. - and prefer 2 paintings and 2 watercolors myself. But I would be very happy if the still life of which I am sending you a photo and which is part of your collection could be included [...]". (December 18, 1953). -Approximately 28 autograph postcards signed by Dunoyer de Segonzac and his wife, written on about 52 cards. -7 original photographs. Black and white prints. Autographed postcards signed by Segonzac to the versos, with dates and places. 1929-1972. About 18 x 24 cm. Three pictures are stamped on the back by Robert Doisneau. They represent Dunoyer de Segonzac painting, notably in Saint Tropez or in the company of André Derain or Henri Coudour. -3 P.A. and miscellaneous: Map and autograph itinerary of Dunoyer de Segonzac, invitation cards to his exhibitions, etc. Pierre Lévy (1907-2002), an important French textile industrialist, collector and patron, formed one of the most important private collections of modern art of the 20th century, which was the subject of an exhibition lasting several months at the Orangerie in Paris in 1978.
