1960 - Austin Healey Sprite Frogeye Dutch... - Lot 8 - Aguttes
1960 - Austin Healey Sprite Frogeye Dutch registration Chassis number AN5L/27010 - Frogeye version - Great quality of restoration - A devastating look ! In 1958, Austin Healey presents a new model to complete its range of cars, now reduced to the 100/6, which replaces the 100/4. The little Sprite inherits a traditional 4-cylinder engine and the typical British roadster equipment. On the menu: trunk accessible only from the inside, side-screens and soft top in case of bad weather. The first series, nicknamed Frogeye by its users because of its frog-like front end, was produced from 1958 to 1961. The behavior of the car on the road is pleasant: its vivacity and its lightness will also make of it an effective car in competition. The second series will see its design evolve towards a more traditional drawing, much less typified than the endearing Frogeye. The Austin Healey Sprite Frogeye that we present has benefited from a high quality restoration and is in a near perfect condition! The title tells us that our English car has been on Dutch soil since 1966. The last owner, who restored the car, used it very little afterwards: the chassis and the undercarriage look very good, the paint is very nice and the Minilight rims show no defects. Inside, the navy blue leather and the floor mats are also restored and in a very nice condition. A road test allowed us to appreciate the liveliness of the 4-cylinder engine and the lightness of the car: here too, the quality of the restoration is noticeable. Please note that a new set of side screens and a soft top are fitted to this car. This charming little English roadster represents a great opportunity for an enthusiast looking for an extremely sound base.
