1994 JAGUAR COUPÉ XJS V12 6.0
770 units Only 76,500 km Superb configuration French registration title Chassis n° SAJJNAES4EP194963 The Jaguar XJ-S has the difficult task of succeeding the legendary E-Type. The styling change is brutal, the lines are long and taut, with a brand new front end design much more in line with the styling trends of the time. It was presented in 1975, positioned as a grand tourer rather than an absolute sports car. Its career would last more than 20 years. Using the XJ platform, it was equipped with a 5.3 litre V12 engine developing 289 bhp and mated to a 3-speed automatic transmission. This type of engine was logically reserved for pure sports cars, which gave it more than honourable performance. The first change came in 1981 when the XJ-S was fitted with a new V12 called «HE» for High-Efficiency. It was designed to be more fuel efficient and more powerful, delivering 295 bhp. In order to broaden its customer base, Jaguar also introduced a version with a 3.6 litre 6 cylinder engine developing 221 bhp in 1983. A semi-cabriolet version of the XJ-SC was launched but was soon replaced by a convertible. The car was modified again in May 1991 as the Jaguar brand was now owned by the Ford Group. It was renamed the XJS without the dash. The design was modernised, and the engine more powerful. The redesigned interior was also more luxurious and the overall finish was much improved. The 6-cylinder engine was increased to 4 litres, and the V12 to 6 litres. The engines and transmissions were constantly improved until 1996, when the model was discontinued after more than 115,000 units had been produced. This XJS finally found its audience, offering true British refinement while allowing for high speed travel. The example we are presenting was put on the road in Switzerland on the 2nd of August 1994. Owned by a Geneva resident since 2008, this XJS has recently changed hands before being imported into France. It has a beautiful navy blue colour with two red and white piping running along the body. It is equipped with superb 16 inch aluminium wheels which give it a statutory look. Inside, there is an elegant beige leather upholstery combined with brown carpets. The whole is very well preserved, as is the woodwork which is in very good condition. Since 2011 the car has been maintained by the Jaguar Autobritt dealership in Geneva. The last service was carried out in 2018 at a cost of over € 5.000, only 2000 km have been driven since then. With its low mileage and exclusive configuration our beautiful XJS V12 will appeal to the model enthusiasts.
