1972 YAMAHA 360 RT2
Emblematic trail bike of the 70s Yamaha robustness and reliability Rare bike, especially in competition condition French registration title Frame n° 112237 Engine n° 112237 Please note that the frame appears to have been reworked, and the engine is an RT1 type. Because of these details and some liberties taken during the restoration, it is not fair to state that the bike is in near factory condition. At the very beginning of the 1970s, Yamaha flooded the trail bike market with its small displacements, 125 AT1 and 250 DT1 in the lead. In 1971, the Japanese manufacturer tried a new displacement by introducing the 360 RT. Why 360 cc (in fact 351 cc) ? Because to compete in the 500 cc class, motorbikes must only be larger than 350 cc. The RT 360 was immediately appealing with its robust double-cradle frame, torquey engine and handling. For 1972, the 360 was upgraded to the RT2 with an engine whose power output increased from 30 to 32 hp, thanks in part to a new valve intake. The 360 RT2 marked a whole generation of off-roaders, and it is rare to find one today, especially in this near-factory condition. This endearing and virile motorbike (beware of kickbacks!) will seduce a well-informed amateur.
