May they transmit to them his affectionate compliments: "Don't forget me either with the people of your family of whom I have the honour of being known"... Paris, May 9, 1823. Long letter of advice to Rosine, to take good care of her sister, who is ill with chest disease... At Bourgoin near Montargis 19 July 1823. Affectionate wishes to Désirée, for the recovery of her health. "Mr Bequerel from Paris, my cousin, will see you soon; he will tell you that I never see him without talking about you [...]. The first word of your news that you can give me yourself will cause me great joy; but in the meantime, have Rosine give me some"... - He has often thought of his nieces "in the midst of my pains and misfortunes": that they deserve their mother's affection by their conduct and their application to "all the duties which must one day make you good mothers of a family"... Attached is a L.A.S. to her nephew by marriage, Denis-Étienne Becquerel-Despréaux [Rosine's husband], mayor of Châtillon-sur-Loing, July 3, after an accident to her niece Rosine.
