DELACROIX Eugène (1798-1863).
L.A.S. "Eug. Delacroix", 19 October 1838, [to Raymond COSTE, manager of the newspaper Le Temps ?]; 2 1/2 pages in-8. Relating to the King's Salon at the Palais Bourbon. "I left Paris very shortly after your brother took the trouble to come to my house. I found it very difficult to show my salon in the Chamber of Deputies and I left almost despairing of being able to show it to the public. Having just arrived a few days ago, I have just been granted what I asked for. Could I get through you that Le Temps would be willing to announce in the form of a notice that people who wish to see the paintings I have completed in the King's Room at the Chamber will be admitted every day except Sunday, from eleven to four during the end of this month and during the month of November. Several newspapers have already inserted or will insert this small notice"... Attached is a L.A.S. "E. Delacroix", Monday morning [8 May 1837], to J. De BROË, adviser to the Court of Cassation (1 p. in-12, address), inviting him to "share my boy's dinner with my good cousins" ....
