1952 CITROËN TRACTION 11 B
No reserve True icon in the collective memory Attractive estimate Old restoration to be resumed Italian registration title Chassis n° 236167 Unveiled in 1934 to boost sales of the Citröen brand, the car that history will rename «Traction Avant» because of its front-wheel drive, a rare feature on cars of its category at the time, owes its body style to designer Flaminio Bertoni. Following several versions, the 11B was launched in 1937. Longer, wider and heavier than the 11 BL (for Légère), this version, which was discontinued during the Second World War, was re-launched in March 1947. In 1952, this vast and comfortable model, but with a reduced trunk, inherited a bulging trunk of great capacity. This made it possible to travel with a complete family with luggage that was not placed on a roof rack. The silhouette of the Traction will certainly lose its fluidity, but it is for the benefit of a practical aspect that will participate in the renewed interest in this period for the sedan of the quai de Javel. The Traction 11B presented here has an old Italian registration document dated 1976, its certificate of conformity issued by the Automobile Club de France on September 20, 1988 and a file of photos attesting to its complete dismantling for its restoration in the 1990s. This is an interesting basis for the enthusiast looking for this popular French icon. The engine is blocked.
