1927 FIAT 512 TORPÉDO
No reserve Nice patina 6-cylinder engine Impressive torpedo version No registration title Chassis n° 2202170 The Fiat 512 is an imposing car produced by the Italian manufacturer between 1926 and 1928. Based on the same mechanical basis and chassis as the 510, it was available in several body styles: sedan, torpedo, city coupe and landaulet or limousine. Its production of 2,535 units was mainly exported to Australia and Great Britain. Under the hood is a 3.5-liter in-line 6-cylinder engine developing 46 hp, allowing it to reach 80 km/h. The interior has a wooden dashboard with meters placed in the center. The steering wheel is located on the right side of the car. The 512 received an updated suspension system as well as four-wheel brakes and a four-speed manual transmission. The example we present is a torpedo built in 1927. It has benefited from a complete restoration many years ago and is today in good overall condition. Its beautiful patina gives the car a lot of charm. The bodywork is in a nice two-tone light and dark grey color, enhanced by a double sky blue pinstripe around the body. This color combination is also used on the wheels. The interior features black and blue marbled faux leather upholstery. In addition to the front and rear bench seats, there are two folding seats that fold down behind the front bench. The embossed dashboard is made of different types of wood, and all gauges are there, in good condition. Under the hood, we find the 6-cylinder tipo 112 fed by a Weber carburetor, which will require a restart (the cylinder head has been re-welded). The hood of our torpedo is in a satisfactory state; are also present contemporary side-screens allowing to protect from bad weather. This elegant torpedo is presented for sale No reserve price. With its statutory appearance and its 6-cylinder engine, it will undoubtedly convince lovers of pre-war beauty.
