1975 Peugeot 504 V6 Cabriolet
Elegant design by Pininfarina Attractive estimate Rare V6 version French registration Chassis n° 2181312 Coupes and Cabriolets derived from saloon cars are a tradition at Peugeot. After the 203 and 403, Peugeot called on Pininfarina for the 404, who created a body different from that of the saloon with the success that we know. With the 504 launched in 1968, the manufacturer from Sochaux confirmed the rule and transformed a wise four-door saloon into an elegant coupé worthy of transalpine productions. Although the shape evolved during its career, it retained the elegance of the initial design. Produced from 1969 to 1983, this car was increasingly sought after by collectors looking for an elegant and comfortable French car. In 1974 the top-of-the-range V6 versions appeared, the first Peugeot to benefit from this 2.7 litre engine developed jointly with Renault and Volvo. Combining power and reliability without abandoning the elegance that has characterised it since its introduction in 1969, less than 1,000 were produced.  The example we are presenting is a Peugeot 504 V6 cabriolet, which was launched on 25 September 1975. The bodywork has been repainted several years ago and some traces of corrosion can be noticed. In the cabin, the upholstery is black with red carpeting. The upholstery has been refurbished in 2020, so the front seats, the rear bench and the doors have been reconditioned. The black soft top is in satisfactory condition. Acquired in 2016 by its current owner, this car has not been driven much since. The engine runs well but a general overhaul of the mechanics is required. This interesting Peugeot 504 V6 cabriolet is the 422nd built out of 977 produced. Offering 4 real seats for open-air touring, this attractively priced example should appeal to enthusiasts of the model.
