CELINE LOUIS-FERDINAND (1894-1961)
L.A.S. "LFCéline", [Korsør (Denmark)] 11 [October 1949], to his friend Paul MARTEAU; 2 pages in-fol., envelope. He is waiting for the book on Tarot cards from Marseille, written by Paul Marteau. "I see myself ending up in a forecasting trailer. I already have the dancer, the dog, the cats. I'm missing the owl and the tarot cards, but it's coming! I'd like to end up on the Zone for the few that still exist". He gives MAHÉ's address: "I'm writing him that he's hurrying"... He comes to an article reported by Marteau: "Yes it is curious this article where the traitor Céline becomes Mr. Céline - and in the World. He who lasts long enough, says Montaigne, has seen everything and the opposite of everything. I wish that this opposite wouldn't drag on - because finally Time is hardly sporting. I can feel the undertakers chasing after me as they used to say in Bezons" . A press clipping is attached, with the article "Céline and Zola".
