1995 Ferrari F355 CHALLENGE
Nice condition, Sort of revision, important file of invoices One of the most beautiful modern Ferraris competitive Competition car, sold without a title # ZFFPR41B000104487 Derived from the Ferrari 348 GTB, the 348 Challenge can claim to be the one that started it all. The successful Ferrari Challenge was born with it in 1993, but the F355 Challenge sublimated it from 1995 onwards. It must be said that it was more accomplished, more successful from both a stylistic and technical point of view. A huge commercial success, the F355 is one of those that some consider to be the last in the line of 308, 328 and 348 cars that will end with the arrival of the 360 Modena. More beautiful, more efficient and easier to handle, it is of particular interest on the collection market, like its big sister, the 550 Maranello. Wishing to perpetuate the spirit of the 50s and 60s when gentlemen drivers joined the circuits by road, the F355 Challenge takes up the codes of its predecessors. Impossible not to compare it to the Ferrari 250 GT Berlinetta Passo Corto! Like the model it replaced, the F355 Challenge was directly derived from its namesake, the Berlinetta. Here again, the main original elements are kept for ease of use. But the exhaust is lighter, a racing clutch replaces the original one, 14-inch Brembo brakes (type F40) are fitted with front and rear cooling scoops. The cooling system is also improved with an additional radiator fan, as are the ground connections with new 18-inch Speedline rims (fitted with either Pirelli 245/265-18 front and 305/645-18 rear slick tyres or Pirelli P Zero 225/40 ZR 18 (front) and 265/40 ZR 18 (rear) rain tyres) and racing ball joints and suspension springs. As for the aerodynamics, they are simply improved by the addition of a prominent rear wing starting in 1999 to improve the offset and therefore cornering speeds. Finally, like any self-respecting racing car, the cabin will be stripped of carpeting and soundproofing to save 75 kg on the scales. For the rest, steering wheel, bucket seats, roll cage, harness and towing rings complete the panoply of a GT resolutely turned towards competition. According to the factory archives communicated to the owner, our Ferrari F355 Challenge took an active part in the Ferrari Challenge from 1995 to 1998 in England in the hands of driver Fabio Piscopo before Charlie White bought it in 2005. We even found a miniature in his colours made by Bang for the 96 season. At the wheel, he took part during several seasons in the Pirelli Ferrari Open with numerous podiums, and regularly finished in the top 5. It is in 2015 that it arrives in France in the collection of its current owner. Gentleman driver in its time, it has since been used during track days and more recently on the Paul Ricard circuit during the Global Endurance Legends organized by Peter Auto in 2018. Regularly maintained, its solid file retraces all the expenses and maintenance carried out since 2005. Even more recently, a little over €10,000 has been invested to ensure its perfect operation. Last October, its owner had the car overhauled with the replacement of the timing belt, accessory belt, rollers, spark plugs, the draining of all fluids and filters as well as the replacement of the rear linkage spinnaker seal on the gear lever. In good working order, our F3555 Challenge now has just under 20,000 km on the odometer.
