[MANUSCRIT]. [ARMÉNIE]
Armenian tetrahedron. Second half of the 17th century In-12 (16 x 11.5 cm), 205 ff. in brown and red ink, and gouache on papyrus. Posterior binding in basane with flap originally studded (traces of perforations), inner endpaper in blue oriental weave; in ancient Armenian and a few words in Arabic at the bottom of the illumination. Text in two columns of 25 lines in black ink and red ink for capitals. The beginning of the chapters are indicated by capitals decorated with polychrome bird lettering. A polychrome floral ornament in the margin of the text indicates the location of the pericopes. The manuscript is enriched by two beautiful pages (ff. 4 and 205) and a Khizan style frontispiece (cf. S. Der Nersessian, Amenian Manuscripts in the Walters Art Gallery, Baltimore, 1973, ill. 166). The first frontispiece is preceded by a full-page illumination (f. 3v) depicting an evangelist. Some handwritten notes in Armenian and Arabic. Beautifully illustrated manuscript on papyrus (missing the first and the last leaf with its colophon, f.2 partially torn, tears without affectation, wet spots, stains, some washed out gouaches).
