Large bronze vase with a beautiful patina, archaic shape with an opening in the form of a blooming flower, the body moulded with volutes, the neck and foot decorated with niellés motifs of Greek and stylised banana leaves. Two large handles adorn the vase. The decoration is finely chiselled and partly silvered with dragons among clouds on the inside, and clouds on the outside. Small flower-shaped fittings adorn the handles. Dim. 30 x 44.8 cm (One of the handles slightly detached from the belly, some scratches) Provenance Figure with description no. 34 in the inventory of the Georges Hoentschel estate on November 26, 1924, by André Portier.
