Jaguar TYPE E 4.2 ROADSTER 1969
Same owner for 25 years Attractive estimate Good working condition French registration Chassis number: 1R7773 The Jaguar E-Type will leave its indelible mark on automotive history. Its beauty, performance, first-rate handling and relative accessibility will propel it to the forefront of the scene. Launched in 1961 to replace the no less famous XK, it took over the 3.8l 6-cylinder engine block and offered new technical developments. It has four independent wheels equipped with disc brakes and an all-new rear suspension with four telescopic shock absorbers with integrated springs. In 1964, the 1 Series received a 4.2-litre block rebored to 4.2l and developing 265 bhp. It also benefits from a fully synchronized gearbox and an improved cooling system and retains its streamlined headlights. In 1967, the 1.5 Series will serve as a transition to the 2 Series by featuring open headlights, a 2 Series interior and 2 Series carburetors, while retaining the 1 Series bumpers. The commercial success was total, so much so that production continued until 1973 before being replaced by the XJS. The version presented here is a 4.2 sold new in the US and released in early 1969. Grey in color with black interior, it was imported on our territory in April 1995 and registered by the current owner in June of the same year. Always maintained with love by a passionate of beautiful engines, Mr M will often use it for please runs in Sologne with friends. It is now in a beautiful state of presentation, the hood is in very good condition and in good working order. When we tested it, it was a car in good mechanical condition that we had in our hands. It will need a small revision to get back on the road because it has unfortunately not been driven for two years.
