Peugeot 205 ROLAND GARROS Cabriolet 1993
13 500 km from new In the same ownership from 1993 to 2016 Styled by Pininfarina French registration papers Chassis number: VF320DKD225123462 Peugeot’s leading model at the start of the 1980s, the 205 saved the French manufacturer from a difficult financial situation after its purchase of Chrysler Europe. With 5,278,300 cars built from 1982 to 1998, more 205s were produced than any other Peugeot … until the 206 did better still. Several body styles were available: 3 and 5-door hatchbacks, a small van and a convertible. And, in particular, the Roland Garros version. As the main sponsor of the famous tennis tournament, Peugeot developed a partnership with the organisers, whereby the manufacturer could use the tournament’s name and image, while Roland Garros in turn benefitted from Peugeot’s advertising power. And so, in May 1989, as the competition was about to begin, the first Roland Garros-branded edition of the 205 was launched. Equipped with a 1.4-litre engine developing 85bhp, it was unusually well-equipped for a car in its class, with electric windows and upholstery in white leather and cloth unique to the model, as well as additional exterior trim and green paintwork. The model proved so successful that it remained on sale until 1993 The 205 Roland Garros which we are offering for sale has covered only 13 500 km since it was delivered new to a lady owner in the Italian province of San Remo. As a result, it is in as new condition. The body, paintwork, hood, interior trim and engine are all absolutely faultless. It would be impossible to find another 205 Roland Garros Convertible for sale in similar condition. Purchased in 2017 from an Aguttes auction by its current owner, he has since replaced the timing belt and a service has been carried out. Note that our 205 is coming with its original maintenance book This is a rare opportunity, which should not be missed, to acquire a car whose charm and image have remained in
