Signed autograph letter, signed “Al.Swinburne”, The Pines [Putney, London] 4 May 1891, to a Lady [Louise CHANDLER MOULTON ?]; 1 page, in-8 format; in English. Letter relative to his deceased friend the poet Philip Marston Louise Chandler MOULTON (1835-1908) was looking for a publisher for the works of the English poet Philip Bourke MARSTON (1850- 1887). She published in Boston The Collected Poems of Marston. Swinburne would be happy to recommend a publisher if he knew of one. But as his own editor fl atly refused him a small book - still unpublished - dedicated to the memory of their poor friend Philip Marston, and which includes, besides sonnets and other elegiac poems written by Swinburne immediately after the death of Marston, the tribute by Mr. Watts, published in the Athenæum, she will understand that the infl uence of Swinburne in the editorial world is not of consequence...
