Signed letter, signed « Dwight D. Eisenhower », [New-York] 29 September 1952, to Jerry Smith HENRY, in Charlotte (North Carolina) ; 1 page in-4, typed, on letterhead “Office of Dwight D. Eisenhower”, envelope; in English. “I am sure you will understand that my very heavy mail and an extremely busy schedule make it impossible for me to discuss with you in detail the comments about which you wrote. Nevertheless, I want you to know that I am happy to have your views for careful consideration in our planning for the future. Your help in this fighting crusade is needed and deeply appreciated. I want to take this opportunity to express my personal gratitude for your interest and assistance”. Sold with carbon copies of the original letter of Jerry S. HENRY, Democrat from the South, dated 15 September 1952 to which Eisenhower is answering here; a letter to Luther HODGES (1958), two letters signed in the name of Eisenhower by his executive assistant Arthur H. VANDENBERG Jr. (Office of Dwight D. Eisenhower 17 November 1952) and by Gerald D. MORGAN, special counsel to the President (relative to the Little Rock affair, The White House 3 October 1957).
