CHURCHILL WINSTON (1874-1965).
Signed note, « W.S.C. » in red pencil, 16 March 1918; 1 page and a quarter in-fol. format, typed note on administrative stationary, ink and red crayon inscriptions (small slits in the upper portion of the note; perforation). A projected letter from Churchill as « Minister of Munitions » relative to the American War eff ort towards the end of the First World War. Churchill believes that the Americans must be helped in every possible manner. The future lies in a strong alliance with the United States. Towards the end of the document, Walter Layton, advisor to Churchill and future editor of the Economist indicates that another version of this letter is drafted; on the verso, other comments by Layton and Edward Marsh, Secretary to Churchill.
